The design of very energy efficient buildings concerns increasingly lighting. We have therefore drawn this diagram to help proper daylight design from the early sketches on.

Based on the data published in 1954 by R. Dogniaux at the Belgian Royal Meteorological Institute, it gives the total natural daylight illumination in Lux at Brussels, on vertical surfaces oriented north, south, east and west as well on as on the horizontal planes at every moment of the year.
